How is induction cooktop working?

Induction works on the concept of generating electricity using magnetism. Electricity and magnetism are two different forms of electromagnetic field where changing magnetic field leads to generation of electricity and vice versa. This concept is used with all the induction cooktops that contains a magnetic metal coil inside it.

When we provide power supply to it an electric current passes through the metal coil generating a magnetic field exactly above it. Now, as per the science laws, a constant electricity leads to the development of the constant magnetic field. That is why we pass alternate current through the coil that reverses directions and helps develop changing magnetic field that then indirectly generates heat energy.

When a cookware is kept on the top of an induction cooktop, the same magnetic field passes through the cookware too. But this magnetic field or electricity is passing through straight line and is different from passing through a coil due to which it tries to dissipate its energy causing heat production which aids in cooking.

This is the basics of how induction works and aids cooking process in a swift manner.

The portable induction cooktop offers all the benefits of larger multi-hob stove based  induction cooking at a fraction of the cost.

How Safe Is Induction Cooktop?

There is no open flame and so the chance of flame transfer or radiant heat igniting fumes or flammable material is non-existent. In electrical cooking the red hot coil can sometimes over lap the pot and takes a while to cool down. With induction cooking, only the pot only heats up when it is in contact with the electromagnetic coil. With induction cooking you can safely place your hand on the cooking area a few seconds after a pot has been lifted. The surface will always stay cool to the touch therefore making this an ideal option when kids or disabled people are in the home. The following videos confirm the safety aspects of induction hobs.
